City fire in 1826 and planned city

The "new" Triberg was created in the Weinbrenner-Style

After the devastating city fire in 1826, which destroyed almost the entire city of Triberg with very few exceptions, e.g. the official building and the pilgrimage church with the “Messnerhäusle” were completely destroyed, Triberg was laid out with a new floor plan in the classical style of the Karlsruhe architect Friedrich Weinbrenner.

The long, straight, wide main street with the massive houses on both sides and the striking town hall still bear witness to this today.
